CIMERI
The CIMERI (Renewable and Intelligent Microgrid Innovation Hub) in Lac-Mégantic is a one-of-a-kind facility in Québec dedicated to the experimentation and deployment of smart energy solutions. Leveraging the municipal microgrid and the research infrastructure of 3IT.Energies (Université de Sherbrooke), it serves as a true living laboratory for the energy transition.
This partnership bridges the academic, industrial, institutional, and community sectors, accelerating the development, adoption, and value creation of renewable and microgrid technologies.
3IT.Energies’ Contributions:
- Applied research and technology development: Testing and optimizing energy production, storage, and management solutions.
- Training and knowledge transfer: Building regional and industrial expertise in smart energy systems.
- Energy data valorization: Developing analytical and decision-support tools for municipalities and enterprises.
- Strategic support and outreach: Guiding communities through their energy transition while fostering sustainable economic growth.

This collaborative initiative reflects a shared vision: positioning CIMERI as a model of resilient and intelligent microgrid, capable of inspiring similar projects across Québec and Canada.
