Jean-François Lerat
Executive Director
Jean-François Lerat is a recognized expert in the fields of photovoltaic energy, agrivoltaics, and energy systems. He holds a Master’s degree in Materials Science, Nanotechnology, and Electronic Devices from INSA Rennes and RWTH University Aachen (2010). Since graduating, Jean-François has led numerous projects at the crossroads of research and industrial innovation.
His expertise spans a wide range — from materials and manufacturing processes to industrial equipment and photovoltaic or agrivoltaic systems.
He previously served as R&D Manager at Sun’Agri, where he led the SunAgri3 project, and as R&D Engineer and Project Leader at CEA Liten, contributing to the development of solar cells and module manufacturing through the H2020 AMPERE industrial transfer project.
Since December 2021, Jean-François has been the Executive Director of the 3IT.Energies platform at the Université de Sherbrooke, where he also serves as R&D Manager. In this role, he oversees research and development in photovoltaic production and smart microgrid systems.
